Another late blog post!
The Closet is all about sustainable fashion: Dressing with a conscience.
I met Olivia late last year at a business seminar and it was here that I learnt how passionate Olivia is to not only towards the fashion industry, but also towards protecting the environment. Seeking to combine her love for good fashion, her creativity and her desire to make the fashion industry as sustainable as possible, Olivia created The Closet.
The Closet is an online shop the showcases recycled and vintage pre-loved pieces. I am a complete fashion novice, but I was impressed with the debut range of clothes from the Closet. The range that you see in this shoot were all “one-off’s: so if buy an outfit it is likely to be the only outfit in the country. Later in the year Olivia will be launching her own label: and I am looking forward to seeing her work!
As for the shoot: it was an awesome day at a couple of awesome locations with some really awesome people. The bulk of the shoot was up by the windmills near Makara Beach where the sun decided to come out just as the shoot began. The models, Bronte, Ashleigh, Belinda and Steph were professionals in every sense of the word: hitting the poses and never loosing focus even as the day ran late. With make-up by Nicky, and stunning accessories provided by Moniek: I was also ably assisted (and at times was second shooter) by Spiro from Heathen Photography.
