BIG MARK & CO

Kia ora, Talofa, Hello everyone!

My name is Mark Fa'amooni, but my friends call me Big Mark. Let me share with you my story.

We come up with solutions for people

I started Big Mark & Co back in 2011, and we have evolved a lot since then. But at the core of everything we do is our mission to help people and businesses be the best they can be.

I worked in the hospitality industry at the managerial level for over fifteen years before I became a creative freelancer in 2011. I'm great at systems and processes and project management.

Mark gets the job done! He is remarkable at his craft and has a fantastic foresight and exceeds all expectations.

He and his team all have an outstanding work ethic, but they are also fun, dynamic and very easy to work with. They understand what you need and want, and bring their own energy and expertise into the mix to provide you with the results."

About Big Mark & Co

We started as a photography company, and photography is still a big part of what we do.

But our core business is building custom websites that simply do everything you need it to do. We are a small agency that brings in trusted freelancers when we need to, but Big Mark manages every project from start-to-finish, including actually building your website, and we don't take on more work than we can handle.

About Big Mark

I'm a website developer and photographer that lives in Wellington, New Zealand.

I was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, and I lived here most of my life. My parents were Sam and Pearl, they were the two greatest people I ever knew, and I miss them both very much.

My first job was at the local supermarket, and my second was washing dishes at Wellington Hospital. It was while working at the second job that I developed a love for the hospitality industry that ultimately turned into a 15-year career in the conference and events industry.

I’ve washed dishes under the shadow of Mount Cook, supervised banquets at the Auckland Park Regency and the Stamford Plaza, waited on tables at Fortuna Restaurant, managed conference centres at Sky City and Bellamy's Parliamentary Caterers, co-ordinated events for Te Papa Tongarewa. My career highlight was managing the State Dinner for HM the Queen in 2002.

I started my own business in 2011 called Big Mark Photography. We developed a reputation as conference specialists, but we did many other things as well. We covered everything from fashion shows to corporate trade-shows, from intimate private events to large international festivals.

In 2016, I had a major health event that forced me to re-evaluate how we did business. Big Mark Photography became Big Mark & Co, and our focus shifted from photography to becoming something a bit more than that. We have always built our own websites for Big Mark & Co, It's something I had a bit of experience with before starting the business, and it was something I really enjoyed doing. I spent a few years upskilling, and from 2022 Big Mark & Co began to primarily focus on designing and building custom websites.
